For those who have attended track days and driven a Ferrari around open tarmac or had the opportunity to hire a Ferrari for the day it can leave an after taste of addiction in oneself. Or those of you who are successful enough to have the privilege of driving one of these beautiful cars every day how lucky are you! At Goldcrest Insurance we love Ferrari’s, and have become a specialist when insuring them too. If you have read our previous insurance blogs (and if you haven’t we suggest you have a read after this!) you would have seen tips on what to look out for when insuring your Ferrari, and the importance of making sure your Ferrari is fully insured by an insurance specialist, rather than the unknown quantities of the mine field that is the online market. Given that we are both here for the same reason, the love of Ferrari’s, we thought we’d list our top 5 Ferrari’s ever made, with a few insurance tips thrown in the mix, here goes.
5. To quote Ferrari themselves; our number 5 is the Ferrari F430 Spider: “The F430 Spider joins the F430 as the latest addition to the new generation of Ferrari V8-engined sports cars.” The Ferrari F430 Spider, is an absolute marvel of a car that urges you to drive and envisage yourself gliding through the streets of Rome. As the Ferrari F430 Spider does not come without its expense to your pocket you need to ensure that it’s not an investment that could leave you empty handed. Our team can set you up a specialist individual insurance policy, or alternatively look at insuring all your vehicles as one under a high net worth home fleet policy, and even combining your home and cars under one high net worth insurance policy.
4. We have the classic Ferrari 308 GTS. A vintage beauty that almost makes you want to see the world through husky tinted lens, and take you back to the late 1970s when the production of these cars first started. These rubies are still selling for £30,000 plus, and with these masterpieces being a classic, £30,000 is not something you would want to take lightly. If you’re the proud owner of a Ferrari 308, and you also have an additional car then insuring this car should not cost the same as it cost to buy! Given it’s age we have specialist insurance schemes to insure it as a classic car, with premiums very generally low but the cover extensive
3.Three took a bit of deliberation, but in the end our conclusion was that there are a lot of country sides in the UK to enjoy and we all love having new cars; so the 2010 Ferrari 599 GTO had to fall in our number three. We have several clients, who insure their Ferrari 599 GTO with us, that travel the world on business and when in the UK use the Ferrari as their only vehicle and request driving other cars extension with their insurance. Many insurers who are not experts in insuring the likes of the Ferrari 599 GTO will decline this extension without negotiation, however we can facilitate this – our insurers appreciate that you are driving such a high value vehicle that potentially driving any other vehicle will be significantly less value and therefore a lesser risk.
2. Keeping in line of what is still realistically on the roads today that is applicable for insurance we couldn’t date our decisions to the likes of the Ferrari 275 GTS or the Ferrari 212 inter so we’ve gone against Ferrari’s very own philosophy and we’ve chosen slightly conservative in placing the Ferrari 612 ScagliettI at number 2. Why? Well the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is more of an everyday car oppose to the luxurious and a more common enquiry for us. This is not to take anything away from the Ferrari 612 Scagleitti, this thrillingly nimble, beautifully balanced sporty front-engined rear-wheel drive berlinetta offers a cabin capable of accommodating the small family. Insuring this sleek black horse phenom is of no problem to us; our providers can tailor your needs to a policy that suits your insurance needs. Like for like courtesy cover can be arranged for this type of vehicle, and again we can facilitate these cars as an individual policy or on a high-net home fleet insurance policy.
1. The moment you’ve all been waiting for, our number one, and what better choice than a car named after the great man himself, yes you guess it, our choice is the Enzo Ferrari. Only 400 were made of these Italian splendours, and a large number can be seen driving around in the UK. With these cars ranging anywhere from £700,000 to over £1,000,000, sourcing insurance can be very difficult, and this is where the value of a specialist broker can be measured. With agencies far and wide, to insure any of these fine cars with the most comprehensive cover possible, make sure you contact the team at Goldcrest Insurance your Ferrari insurance specialists.
